During February 2026, Peiyu Chen focused on enhancing the openfoodfacts/openfoodfacts-webcomponents repository by developing a responsive donation banner for the web application. Using TypeScript and CSS, Peiyu refactored the banner’s layout to ensure consistent presentation across a range of devices, addressing issues with content overflow and alignment on smaller viewports. The technical approach involved adjusting flex properties, padding, and media queries to optimize mobile and tablet experiences. Peiyu also improved maintainability by documenting changes and validating responsive behavior in Storybook. This work contributed to a smoother donation flow, reducing user friction and supporting future responsive component development.
