During February 2025, mtwente enhanced the Traewelling/traewelling repository by implementing Icelandic language support and integrating Weblate to streamline the translation process. Focusing on internationalization, mtwente prepared the codebase for scalable localization, enabling the addition of new languages with minimal friction. The technical approach involved configuring Weblate for efficient translation management and updating the application’s structure to support locale expansion. This work addressed the need for broader audience reach and reduced future localization bottlenecks. While no bugs were fixed during this period, the contribution established a robust foundation for ongoing internationalization using tools like Weblate and language resource files.
