In November 2025, Mudit Jain delivered Gumlet integration with FairPlay DRM in the shaka-project/shaka-player repository, focusing on enabling Gumlet support for legacy Apple Media Keys. He implemented end-to-end request and response filtering tailored to Gumlet-specific FairPlay workflows, ensuring compatibility for content providers using Gumlet under FairPlay DRM. The work was carried out using JavaScript and front end development skills, with a strong emphasis on DRM integration. By expanding Shaka Player’s compatibility for Gumlet-enabled providers, Mudit’s contribution reduced friction in encoding and distribution processes, addressing a nuanced interoperability challenge within the media streaming and digital rights management ecosystem.
