Over six months, Michael Chang engineered robust data modeling and workflow features for DARPA-ASKEM’s terarium and askem-beaker repositories. He delivered end-to-end enhancements in model extraction, visualization, and collaboration, focusing on reliability and maintainability. Using TypeScript, Python, and Vue.js, Michael refactored core APIs, optimized routing and layout performance, and integrated OCR pipelines for document processing. His work included security hardening, database indexing, and UI/UX improvements that streamlined user workflows and reduced technical debt. By simplifying observable representations and strengthening error handling, Michael ensured the codebase remained scalable and resilient, supporting complex modeling tasks and efficient data-driven decision-making.
