Worked on the paperless-ngx/paperless-ngx repository with a focus on improving input reliability for international users. Addressed a bug related to IME input handling by implementing a check that prevents chat messages from being sent while the IME state is active during composition, particularly benefiting users of CJK and other non-Latin scripts. The solution was developed using Angular and TypeScript, emphasizing front end development best practices. This targeted fix enhanced product stability and reduced the risk of accidental message sends. The work involved cross-team collaboration and aligned with the project’s beta stability goals, prioritizing correctness and user experience over new features.
