Nele Herzog developed a dynamic Message of the Day (MOTD) feature for the hpi-schul-cloud/infra-ansible-collections repository, focusing on enhancing user onboarding and system transparency. She replaced the static MOTD with a Jinja2 template-driven solution, allowing for customizable and informative welcome messages across different environments. Using Ansible and YAML, Nele ensured that the new MOTD integrates seamlessly with PAM, so users see the updated message at login. This work streamlined the onboarding process and improved the flexibility of system administration. The project demonstrated a focused application of configuration management skills, though it was limited in scope to a single feature.
