During December 2025, Xieqi Nick focused on enhancing hardware compatibility and boot reliability for the flipperdevices/u-boot repository. Working in C and leveraging expertise in driver development and embedded systems, Xieqi addressed a boot issue by reducing the maximum frequency of the meson_gx_mmc driver to 40MHz. This adjustment aligned the MMC driver’s behavior with Amlogic vendor U-Boot standards, broadening support for various eMMC devices and minimizing boot failures across hardware variants. The work included a well-documented patch that detailed the rationale and provided cross-references, reflecting a methodical approach to improving device compatibility and reducing field reliability issues.
