During November 2025, Nijos contributed to the HKN-UCSD/hkn-portal repository by delivering two features focused on improving developer onboarding and environment reliability. Nijos automated the portal server setup process using bash scripting and Python, enabling one-command provisioning through virtual environment creation and streamlined dependency installation. Additionally, Nijos aligned dependency lockfiles by removing poetry.lock and updating package-lock.json, ensuring consistent installs across development and CI environments. These changes enhanced build reproducibility and reduced environment-related setup errors, directly supporting faster onboarding and more predictable CI/CD workflows. The work demonstrated depth in backend development, devops, and package management using JavaScript, bash, and JSON.
