Developed KVM support for the s390x architecture in the shapeblue/cloudstack repository, expanding virtualization capabilities to IBM Z environments. This work involved updating Java code and configuration files to ensure virtual machines for s390x guests were correctly recognized and configured, including proper machine type selection and device handling. By automating feature enablement and reducing manual configuration steps, the changes improved deployment flexibility and operator efficiency for enterprise workloads. Leveraging skills in cloud infrastructure, system architecture, and virtualization, the developer broadened platform compatibility without introducing new bugs, delivering a focused feature that enhances KVM-based virtualization options for enterprise customers.
