During December 2025, Ming Luo developed two core features for the mathesar-foundation/mathesar repository, focusing on enhancing the spreadsheet-like interface. Ming implemented keyboard-driven cell selection resizing, allowing users to expand or contract their selection using Shift and arrow keys, which improved both usability and efficiency for end users. Additionally, Ming refactored and cleaned up the SheetSelection UI, consolidating style fixes to improve code readability and maintainability without altering core functionality. The work was carried out using React and TypeScript, with attention to UI/UX design principles, resulting in a more consistent and future-proof front end codebase for the project.
