During February 2025, NPC contributed to the verily-src/workbench-app-devcontainers repository, focusing on enhancing Dockerized development environments through configuration management and containerization. NPC implemented dynamic group ID mapping in Docker Compose to synchronize app server permissions with the host, addressing potential permission conflicts. They also introduced, then reverted, a feature exposing the Jupyter Docker service on port 8000, enabling tool access while maintaining a rollback-ready configuration. Working primarily with YAML and Docker, NPC emphasized stability and clear documentation, ensuring that changes could be safely tested and reversed. The work demonstrated a methodical approach to DevOps and container orchestration challenges.
