During March 2025, Nxf5025 developed robust RBAC capabilities across the coder/coder and coder/terraform-provider-coder repositories. They implemented Workspace Owner RBAC role propagation in the provisioner, fetching and passing roles as environment variables during provisioning to enhance security and governance. In parallel, they extended the Terraform provider’s data source to expose user RBAC roles and organization IDs, updating provider code, tests, and documentation. This work, primarily using Go, Protocol Buffers, and Terraform, improved end-to-end RBAC visibility and control across provisioning and data-access layers. The features demonstrated thoughtful cross-repo collaboration and addressed business needs for explicit role management and compliance.
