Worked on the geerlingguy/linux repository to address a critical bug in the MLX5 driver’s SRQ event subscription path, focusing on improving reliability and reducing customer impact. The solution involved correcting object type handling in the get_legacy_obj_type function by adding a dedicated case for MLX5_CMD_OP_CREATE_RMP, ensuring consistent mapping and notification delivery for RMP objects. This change stabilized SRQ event notifications, reducing missed alerts and downstream noise. Demonstrated expertise in kernel development, device drivers, and low-level programming using C, while applying disciplined debugging and version control practices to deliver a maintainable fix in a complex kernel driver environment.
