During October 2024, Owen contributed to the cornellh4i/ithaca-recovery repository by focusing on codebase stabilization and resolving a critical build and run-time blocker. He identified and fixed a syntax error in app/test/page.tsx, which had prevented continuous integration and test execution. Using his skills in TypeScript, React, and debugging, Owen’s targeted fix restored stable test-page load behavior and improved overall code health. This work did not introduce new features but was essential for enabling future development and reducing release risk. Owen’s approach demonstrated careful attention to maintainability and reliability in a collaborative Git-based frontend development environment.
