Worked on the livekit/rust-sdks repository to enhance security and configurability by implementing end-to-end encryption options in the Rust SDK. Developed a configurable key derivation workflow using HKDF as the key derivation function, allowing developers to adjust key ring size and algorithm selection for encryption. Updated WebRTC dependencies to maintain compatibility and documented all changes through a structured release process. Addressed build reliability by fixing a critical .gclient URL syntax error, which improved configuration loading and prevented build failures. Utilized Rust and Python alongside configuration management skills to deliver maintainable, secure, and flexible solutions for real-time communication systems.
