Worked on modernizing the Tcl/Tk packaging in the msys2/MINGW-packages repository by upgrading Tcl/Tk to version 8.6.17 and aligning the build process with upstream standards. The approach involved removing redundant and deprecated patches, eliminating unnecessary zlib build dependencies, and streamlining the PKGBUILD scripting flow for easier maintenance. Adjustments to manpage installation ensured compatibility with upstream practices, reducing future maintenance overhead. This work demonstrated skills in C programming, shell scripting, and package management, resulting in more reliable builds and simplified future upgrades. The changes improved integration with upstream Tcl/Tk releases and enhanced the maintainability of the packaging process.
