Worked on the cloudsmith-io/cloudsmith-cli repository to establish clear code ownership governance by implementing a CODEOWNERS file. This addition defined explicit ownership boundaries, streamlining pull request reviews and improving onboarding for new contributors. Leveraging repository management and collaboration tools, the approach focused on enhancing team accountability and reducing unnecessary handoffs during code changes. The configuration, managed in plaintext, strengthened security and change management by clarifying responsibilities within the codebase. As a result, the repository benefited from faster review cycles and safer code modifications, supporting a more efficient and collaborative engineering workflow without introducing new bugs or unnecessary complexity.
