In June 2025, Maria Pano contributed to the Geonovum/NL-SBB repository by enhancing the SKOS AP NL profile to improve interoperability and validation. She enabled OWL imports for external ontologies such as SKOS core, DCT, and FOAF, increasing the semantic richness and alignment with established standards. Using skills in Ontology Engineering, RDF, and SHACL, Maria also addressed a critical validation issue by adding missing sh:path statements to property shapes in the Turtle-based skos-ap-nl.ttl file. Her work provided targeted, standards-driven improvements that reduced downstream validation risks and strengthened the profile’s ability to integrate with broader semantic web resources.
