Worked on the galaxyproject/tools-iuc repository to enhance quality assurance processes by expanding test coverage for an existing feature. Focused on Python-based testing, the work introduced targeted regression tests to validate feature correctness and reduce the risk of future functionality drift. Version control practices were strengthened by implementing a minor version suffix for pre-release tracking, improving release hygiene and enabling downstream users to better monitor changes. The approach emphasized reliability and maintainability, ensuring that new and existing features remain robust as the codebase evolves. No bug fixes were recorded, with efforts concentrated on proactive testing and versioning improvements during the development cycle.
