During December 2024, Perzus enhanced the GovTechSG/oobee repository by implementing Shadow DOM-aware HTML capture to improve accessibility analysis. He developed the findElementByCssSelector utility in TypeScript, enabling accurate retrieval of HTML content from elements within shadow roots. This technical approach addressed the challenge of reliably extracting markup for oobeeAccessibleLabelViolations, thereby strengthening the accuracy of accessibility compliance checks. Focusing on front-end development and web accessibility, Perzus’s work provided a targeted feature rather than broad architectural changes, demonstrating depth in handling complex DOM structures. The contribution was delivered as a single feature, with no bug fixes, reflecting focused and specialized engineering effort.
