Worked on the mib1185/homeassistant-core repository to enhance the YaleXSBLE lock integration by introducing support for a new JAMMED state. This feature expanded the lock’s state management capabilities, allowing for more accurate detection and reporting of jammed conditions within Home Assistant. The implementation involved updating the backend Python code to handle the new LockStatus.JAMMED state, aligning with the existing LockStatus enumeration and core architecture. By improving the reliability and consistency of lock state reporting, the changes enabled safer and more robust automation workflows. The work demonstrated backend development skills with a focus on Python and state management logic.
