Pietro Dell’Ino developed scheduled security monitoring rule support for the DataDog/terraform-provider-datadog repository, enabling Cloud SIEM rules to execute on a defined schedule. He extended the datadog_security_monitoring_rule resource by adding new fields for scheduling and calculated fields, updating both the API payload construction and data extraction logic in Go. This enhancement allows users to automate rule execution and reduce manual intervention in security operations. By leveraging Go programming, the Datadog API, and Terraform, Pietro’s work improved automation and governance for cloud deployments. The feature addressed a clear operational need and demonstrated a focused, well-scoped engineering contribution within the project.
