Worked on governance and maintenance improvements for the amazon-contributing/opentelemetry-collector-contrib repository, focusing on Google Cloud components. Addressed code ownership by updating the CODEOWNERS file and realigning metadata to accurately reflect current team responsibilities, which improved accountability and streamlined pull request reviews. The technical approach involved removing outdated owners and adding new Google Cloud owners, ensuring that review routing and triage processes became more efficient. Utilized skills in Code Ownership Management and DevOps, with changes implemented using Markdown and YAML. This work enhanced the repository’s maintainability by clarifying ownership for Google Cloud exporters and extensions, supporting more effective ongoing project governance.
