Worked on enhancing the Dynatrace/dynatrace-otel-collector repository by improving documentation for Kubernetes attribute enrichment in the OpenTelemetry Collector. Focused on guiding developers to enrich self-monitoring data with Kubernetes attributes, the work detailed two technical approaches: using a gateway collector with the k8sattributesprocessor and injecting attributes via environment variables. Comprehensive configuration examples and a Mermaid diagram were added to clarify integration steps and data flow. The documentation, written in markdown and yaml, aimed to streamline onboarding and operational processes for observability in Kubernetes environments, ultimately reducing support overhead and deployment uncertainty for teams adopting OpenTelemetry-based monitoring solutions.
