Worked on the linuxmint/cinnamon-spices-applets repository, focusing on enhancing the reliability of the multicore system monitor applet’s disk I/O metrics. Addressed a bug in the Disk I/O subsystem by implementing a fallback mechanism for missing disc-gran values, ensuring that when discGran data was unavailable, the system defaulted to using log-sec for calculations. This JavaScript-based solution improved the stability of disk information reporting and reduced runtime errors in real-world scenarios. Leveraging front end development skills, the work contributed to more accurate and dependable disk I/O monitoring, ultimately increasing user trust in the applet’s performance and data integrity.
