During November 2025, Panagiotis Mavrogiorgos developed and delivered the zvtk package for the conda-forge/staged-recipes repository, enabling VTK file compression using Zstandard. He implemented this feature in Python, focusing on data compression and package management to address the challenge of processing and storing large VTK datasets. By integrating Zstandard compression, Panagiotis improved both processing speed and storage efficiency, facilitating faster data workflows and reducing storage requirements.
