During March 2026, Pbufre expanded document ingestion capabilities for the danny-avila/LibreChat repository by implementing native OpenDocument Text (ODT) parsing and robust text extraction. Using JavaScript, Node.js, and TypeScript, Pbufre focused on preserving document structure and improving XML extraction, while introducing resource safeguards such as a decompressed content size cap to ensure safer processing. The work included enhancements to MIME type detection, enabling reliable uploads and parsing for both ODT and Java files. Comprehensive end-to-end testing with real-world fixtures and improved dependency management contributed to a more maintainable codebase and laid groundwork for future document support.
