Developed universal streaming support for file downloads in the stripe/LibreChat repository, enabling OpenAI assistants to retrieve large files efficiently across both Node.js and Web API environments. The work focused on enhancing the backend file download route to handle streams natively, consolidating logic to reduce edge-case complexity and ongoing maintenance. Leveraging JavaScript for backend and API development, the implementation introduced a streaming-capable approach that improved compatibility and reliability for diverse deployment scenarios. This update addressed the need for robust stream handling, ensuring consistent file delivery regardless of runtime environment, and demonstrated a strong grasp of cross-platform backend engineering principles.
