Worked on the thingsboard-edge repository to optimize Redis connection pooling for edge deployments, focusing on reducing validation overhead and improving runtime performance. The approach involved disabling testOnBorrow and testOnReturn settings across multiple transport protocol configurations, which streamlined connection validation and contributed to lower latency and higher throughput under load. Adjustments to Redis pool ping parameters further enhanced the responsiveness of edge data paths. The work demonstrated a strong grasp of configuration management and connection pooling, utilizing Java and YAML to implement changes. These optimizations enabled more scalable and efficient edge deployments, addressing performance bottlenecks in distributed environments without introducing new bugs.
