Worked on stabilizing citation key generation and cross-referencing integrity in the JabRef/jabref repository, focusing on improving data integrity and indexing accuracy for bibliographic references. Addressed a critical bug that ensured child entries correctly reference parent entries, reducing the risk of misindexed citations and enhancing reliability for scholarly outputs. Expanded test coverage using JUnit to validate edge cases, including orphaned and comma-separated field changes, and refactored Java code to extract citation index update logic for better modularity. Updated documentation and changelogs to align with collaborative contributions, emphasizing maintainability and clarity in both code and supporting materials throughout the development process.
