During January 2026, Mubot upgraded the MU_BASECORE stack in the microsoft/mu_tiano_platforms repository, focusing on cryptographic enhancements and improved network error handling. Working primarily in C and Python, Mubot integrated 26 upstream commits, expanding cryptographic capabilities and introducing stronger provider versioning. The work included implementing the BaseCryptLib GetCryptoProviderVersionString function, integrating the OneCrypto protocol, and updating related unit tests to ensure reliability. Mubot also improved CI/CD pipelines and tooling, updated status-code libraries, and enhanced test coverage for crypto components. This feature work strengthened platform security, increased maintainability, and reduced risk for future firmware development in embedded systems.
