Alex Ren configured a custom domain and CNAME for Hackpad in the hackclub/dns repository, enabling the service to operate under a self-hosted domain. Using YAML for configuration management and DNS management, Alex mapped the domain to align with updated deployment strategies, ensuring consistent and reliable domain resolution. This work improved accessibility, branding, and administrative control for Hackpad, supporting a smoother user experience across environments. The technical approach focused on precise DNS configuration and cross-team coordination, demonstrating a solid understanding of infrastructure requirements. While the scope was focused, the implementation addressed key reliability and branding needs for the project.
