During May 2025, contributed to the avocado-framework/avocado-vt repository by enhancing Linux drive path resolution to support serial-number-based device discovery. This work involved updating the get_linux_drive_path utility to search for the ID_SCSI_SERIAL attribute, allowing disks to be identified by serial number rather than just device ID. The approach broadened hardware detection coverage and improved the reliability of disk detection across varied environments, which reduced flaky tests and debugging time in CI and automation pipelines. Demonstrated strong skills in Linux device management, system testing, and Python, with a focus on sysfs interactions and serial-based matching logic for hardware discovery.
