Developed a reliability-focused feature for the Shopify/rails repository by introducing an attach! method to Active Storage, using Ruby and Ruby on Rails for back end development. This method was designed to raise exceptions on attachment save failures, enabling immediate error handling and reducing the risk of silent failures in file attachment workflows. The approach emphasized traceability through a single, well-documented commit, supporting both maintenance and onboarding. By improving error visibility and enabling faster triage, the work enhanced the reliability of user-facing file uploads. No major bugs were addressed during this period, with primary attention given to feature delivery and code quality.
