Developed and delivered the Wildcard Mentions in Muted Channels feature for the zulip/zulip repository, enabling users to receive wildcard mention notifications in specific muted channels while maintaining respect for muted topics and global notification settings. The work involved implementing backend notification logic and channel-level precedence rules using Python and JavaScript, ensuring that channel-specific wildcard notification preferences override muting without disrupting other settings. Collaborated on code reviews and documentation to support maintainability and clarity. This feature improved user control over notifications, reduced the risk of missing important mentions, and aligned notification behavior with user expectations for channel muting and engagement.
