Worked on enhancing the WMTSCapabilities component within the EOX-A/EOxElements repository, focusing on preserving and merging user-provided dimensions with default settings during capability fetches. Addressed a regression by ensuring that user-specified options, such as time, are not overwritten but instead merged with capability defaults, maintaining user preferences across sessions. Implemented these changes in JavaScript, leveraging front end development skills to improve flexibility and customization in map configurations. The work included robust dimension merging logic within optionsFromCapabilities(), and all updates were traceable through specific commit references, supporting future audits and maintainability of the codebase without introducing new bugs.
