Worked on the EPFLXplore/ERC_HD repository to enhance deployment reliability and perception system stability over a two-month period. Focused initially on Docker image optimization by removing unnecessary RealSense drivers and upgrading numpy, resulting in a leaner, more maintainable container with improved build times and fewer runtime conflicts. Subsequently addressed perception system robustness by restoring the camera client’s hardcoded serial number, ensuring consistent initialization and reducing failures in the perception pipeline. Utilized Dockerfile, Python, and system configuration skills to streamline dependency management and maintain clear documentation, supporting both maintainability and operational stability for robotics and perception workloads within the project.
April 2025 monthly summary for EPFLXplore/ERC_HD: Stabilized perception initialization by restoring camera client parameters to the expected configuration, reverting the prior change that altered the serial number. This ensures the perception node initializes with the correct camera parameters, improving reliability of the perception pipeline and reducing downstream data issues.
