Worked on enhancing CDN timeout reliability and configurability across the uktrade/platform-tools and uktrade/terraform-platform-modules repositories. Addressed a validation issue in ALB definitions by ensuring the cdn_timeout_seconds parameter is strictly an integer, adding comprehensive tests to verify this logic. Introduced a configurable CloudFront read timeout using a Terraform variable, defaulting to 30 seconds but allowing user overrides for flexible response handling. These changes, implemented using Terraform, HCL, and Python, improved infrastructure consistency and reduced the risk of misconfiguration. The work included thorough documentation and validation, supporting safer production deployments and a better user experience across cloud infrastructure components.
