Worked on the zendesk/maxwell repository to enhance the reliability and maintainability of the replication bootstrap process. Focused on backend development using Java and JDBC, the work included improving JDBC connection handling for the schema database and introducing a dedicated method for generating replication connection URIs. Refined configuration parsing and error handling to reduce misconfigurations and bootstrap failures, directly addressing stability concerns for customers and operators. Additionally, fixed a critical typo in the configuration class that restored proper URI retrieval functionality. Maintained robust commit hygiene throughout, ensuring traceability and clarity in the codebase while demonstrating strong database management skills.
