Worked on the facebook/lexical repository to deliver a targeted performance optimization focused on improving the responsiveness of editing workflows. Addressed UI lag by deferring DOM selection property reads during selection updates, which reduced layout recalculations and minimized forced reflows. This approach enhanced user interactions by preventing renderer thrashing and maintaining smoother text selection experiences. The implementation was carefully scoped to the DOM read path within selection updates, ensuring code safety and minimizing the risk of regressions in the core editor logic. Utilized TypeScript and front end development skills, with a strong emphasis on performance optimization throughout the feature development process.
