Worked on the Kitware/CDash repository to enhance authentication reliability for users operating behind load balancers and proxies. Addressed a persistent SAML2 login issue by introducing a configuration-driven solution that enables proxy variable management through environment variables, eliminating the need for manual configuration file edits. This approach allowed deployments to trust the X-Forwarded-Proto header, streamlining authentication flows and reducing login failures in proxied environments. The work focused on backend development and configuration management, utilizing PHP to implement the fix. The targeted bug fix improved deployment flexibility and reliability for organizations using SAML authentication in complex network topologies.
