Worked on the astropy/astropy repository to enhance scholarly citation management by updating the CITATION.cff file. Delivered a feature that adds the DOI to the preferred citation, ensuring that GitHub’s Cite This Repository functionality generates BibTeX entries with accurate DOI information. This update was implemented using CFF and focused on improving documentation and metadata quality to support better attribution and citation metrics. The approach involved modifying the identifiers subsection within CITATION.cff to align with bibliographic tooling standards. No bugs were reported during this period, reflecting a focused contribution on citation workflow and documentation practices within the project.
