Worked on the espressif/esp-nimble repository to deliver two core features over two months, focusing on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and embedded systems using C. Developed support for BLE 6.2 HCI Command Events, specifically implementing Frame Space Update and Unified Test Protocol over OTA, which involved creating new data structures and functions to enhance the Nimble BLE stack’s interoperability and testing capabilities. Additionally, introduced SPI-based logging, enabling external log capture and improved observability by injecting structured logging statements throughout service components. These contributions improved diagnostic workflows and operational visibility, addressing both protocol support and maintainability within the embedded BLE environment.
March 2026: NimBLE SPI Logging feature delivered for espressif/esp-nimble, enabling external log capture via SPI and enhancing observability across NimBLE services. The work adds structured logging statements throughout service components to capture error and status messages for debugging, monitoring, and faster issue resolution. The change is backed by a focused commit implementing SPI-based log transport, improving diagnostic capabilities and operational visibility.
