Worked on the ministryofjustice/cloud-platform-environments repository, delivering two core infrastructure features. Developed a General Ledger PostgreSQL RDS Database Module that enables scalable, managed data storage with explicit instance configuration, read replicas, and secure Kubernetes secrets integration, supporting resilient financial workloads. Improved the Prisoner Finance Service production environment by refining DNS entries, removing redundant 'prod' labels from certificate names, and aligning live environment naming conventions to reduce operational risk and streamline certificate management. Leveraged Terraform, AWS, and Kubernetes to implement infrastructure as code, demonstrating a disciplined CI/CD approach and cross-team collaboration to enhance production readiness and simplify future migrations.
December 2025 performance summary for ministryofjustice/cloud-platform-environments. Delivered two primary initiatives: (1) General Ledger PostgreSQL RDS Database Module enabling scalable, managed data storage with explicit DB instance configuration, read replicas, and Kubernetes secrets for secure access; this supports higher data throughput and resilience for financial workloads. (2) Prisoner Finance Service production DNS and naming improvements, including a short-form DNS entry for the general ledger API, removal of 'prod' from certificate DNS names, and live environment naming alignment, reducing certificate management complexity and enabling clearer production signaling. These efforts reduce operational risk, improve production readiness, and streamline future migrations. Technologies/skills demonstrated: Terraform/Kubernetes-based infrastructure, AWS RDS PostgreSQL, Kubernetes secrets, DNS and certificate management, environment naming conventions, CI/CD discipline, and cross-team collaboration for live environment readiness.
