Worked on the envoyproxy/gateway repository to enhance observability for Kubernetes Gateway API resources by integrating Gateway API v1.5 ListenerSet metrics into kube-state-metrics. Focused on improving monitoring and deployment reliability, the work involved updating Helm charts and regenerating API documentation in Markdown and YAML to ensure new metrics were accurately surfaced and collected. This integration enabled more effective monitoring of listener resources, supporting faster incident detection and reduced mean time to recovery. The approach emphasized keeping documentation and deployment artifacts in sync with feature updates, leveraging skills in Helm, Kubernetes, and monitoring to deliver a cohesive and maintainable solution.
