Worked on enhancing the SIS import workflow in the UniversityOfHelsinkiCS/sis-importer repository by introducing support for TARGET_STUDENT_GROUP in person group retrieval. This update allowed for more granular categorization of student groups, directly supporting improved analytics and reporting while maintaining compatibility with existing data import pipelines. The implementation focused on backend development using JavaScript, leveraging Express.js and Sequelize to integrate the new group attribute efficiently. By aligning the changes with data governance requirements, the work ensured that downstream processes could benefit from increased data granularity without disrupting established workflows, reflecting a targeted and maintainable approach to feature development.
