During January 2025, work centered on enhancing the bbc/tsduck repository by implementing a targeted networking feature using C++ with a focus on network and socket programming. The primary contribution was the SRT Local Port Binding Enhancement, which allows callers to bind outgoing SRT connections to a fixed local port, providing greater control and predictability over network behavior in caller mode. This was achieved by refining argument parsing and internal address setup, ensuring backward compatibility and minimal disruption to existing interfaces. The changes were consolidated into a focused commit, enabling improved interoperability while maintaining stability for users relying on established workflows.
