Over a two-month period, contributed to the bpftrace/bpftrace repository by developing and refining core debugging and stack unwinding features. Implemented DWARF-based user-space stack unwinding for x64 architectures using LLVM 21+, enabling complete stack traces even for binaries without frame pointers, and introduced CLI options for targeted process analysis. Enhanced symbol extraction by enabling xz support in blazesym for improved stack symbolication in Red Hat-based environments. Addressed stack trace accuracy by correcting symbol resolution for inlined functions and restored PID-restricted probe listing. Work focused on C++ and Nix, emphasizing debugging, performance optimization, and robust system programming practices.
Concise monthly summary for 2026-04 focusing on delivering core features and stabilizing probe listing, with visibility into business value and technical contributions.
