Worked on the basecamp/omarchy repository to implement persistent audio sink switching, addressing a key usability issue for users of PipeWire and WirePlumber. By transitioning from pactl to wpctl within shell scripts, the solution ensured that audio sink selections would persist across sessions and survive WirePlumber reconfigurations. This approach updated both the default and configured audio sinks, effectively countering previous overrides and reducing user friction. The work demonstrated a strong grasp of audio management and shell scripting, delivering a more reliable and consistent audio experience while minimizing support needs related to audio device persistence in Linux desktop environments.
