Developed and delivered distributed tracing capabilities for the snowflakedb/gosnowflake repository, focusing on enhancing observability and reliability in Snowflake integrations. The work centered on propagating OpenTelemetry trace context, including trace and span IDs, through outgoing API requests using Go. This approach enables end-to-end traceability across the integration path, supporting organizational goals for improved monitoring. An integration test was added to ensure trace context is correctly injected into request headers, with a clear commit trail documenting the implementation. The feature deepened the project’s use of API integration and distributed tracing, providing a robust foundation for future observability enhancements in Go environments.
